Support Letter to Organizations/Businesses
It’s been more than about six months since this whole #ChooseLife lifestyle started. A lot of events, forums and efforts have been set in motion in our effort to affect our community in a positive light. So much negative energy happens around us and is glorified by the world that I think at times that good and encouraging efforts can go unnoticed.
The holiday season is approaching us. The season of giving !!!!! The Choose Life Campaign will kick off this season with the Choose to Give Food Drive. The drive will donate non-perishable food items to the local food bank. This year our food banks are low on food and trying to handle an increased request for assistance.
There are people all around us that need our support, people who are in need this holiday for various reasons. Does that mean they don’t deserve to have a joyous Holiday season? Of course not. We will be working with many people, organizations and companies to help put this food drive in motion. I’m asking that anybody who has a little extra during these upcoming weeks join us in helping those who really need it.
In the spirit of making this a truly fun and rewarding experience, we will be running this drive as a competition. And the team that collects the most pounds of food wins bragging rights for 2011!!! If you would like to volunteer as a team captain, email us at chooselifecampaign@gmail.com. All you have to do to be a captain is collect food from your network of family and friends and turn it in. It’s that simple, and your efforts will make a difference in the lives of families in our local area. Let’s join together and make an impact.
For those who want to make donations, starting on Black Friday, Buffalo Wild Wings in Newport News and Suffolk, VA (Harborview Blvd) will serve as drop off locations. Or you can turn your items in to your team captain.
